What is MUN?
MUN is short for Model United Nations, that is a fun and educational simulation of a UN body. In MUN sessions, students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. It is also useful for training in public speaking, debating, critical thinking and teamwork.
Every participant in an MUN conference is assigned the role of a delegate of one country which they are expected to represent in their committee. The topics discussed in the committees will be made known well beforehand, so as to provide students with sufficient time preparation. It is crucial that delegates familiarise themselves with the topic, rise to an established political posture and during the debate, stay true to the actual authentic policy of the country they represent.
During committee session, the debate is moderated by the committee president (chair) and follows the formal MUN official guidelines. The aim of the committee is to produce a resolution on which at least a simple majority of the participating countries (at least half) agree. At the end of a conference, the best-performing delegates in each committee are recognised with the best delegate and honourable mention awards.
Manca Kejžar
Kranj, SloveniaThe fourth chair at KranjMUN conference is Manca Kejžar. She is 3rd year IB student at Gimnazija Kranj. She will be this years president of the Human Rights COuncil. Hence Human Rights which will be discussed are fundamental. She expects appropriate attitude towards the topics and some serious and lovely debates.
Erazem Pivk
Kranj, SloveniaErazem Pivk will be your chair at the North Atlantic Treaty organization! Originally from Kranj, he is a second year student at the Gimnazija Kranj's International Burrauculerate programme. In a varied debating carrier that includesparticipating in MUN conferences and other international debating events he has proven himself as a cunning speaker, winning nominations for the »Best Delegate« award at multiple occasions. He otherwise has a strong background in natural sciences and hopes to continue his academic carrier in phyics and phylosophy. (In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, spends time with his friends and appreciates good movies. As one of this year's chairs, he is excited to meet all delegates and share some unforgettable days.

Una Iza Grandovec
Kranj, SloveniaA chair who will, at first sight, look like someone you can mess with but that will be proven otherwise, even before the first coffee break. Iza has proven herself on multiple MUN conferences like MUNLaws, where she got an honourablemention, BaLMUN and others, but don’t just take it from us, because the resolution papers she passed speak for themselves. With constantly updated knowledge of international politics she surprises everyone around her on a daily basis. Nonetheless, what Iza’s knowledge enables is an interesting debate with just the right amount of both diplomacy, drama and productivity. Because she always makes sure she’s a part of the UNSC she is knowledgeable also in protocol that must be followed in order to maintain the necessary amount of civility. She’s basically Vito Corleone but way prettier and more entertaining.

Aiden Jurij Franko
Radovljica, SloveniaAiden Jurij Franko is the chair of the UN Environment Programme, therefore he will be moderating the discussion on globally important issues regarding the environment. He is 4th year student of Gimnazija Kranj IB programme, and has experience from various international conferences, both foreign and domestic, as well as EU projects. However, this will be his first time undertaking the challenge of chairing a council, but we can expect professionalism and dedication from him, and even a bit of attitude if the Rules of Procedure are not going to be followed.
